Long time no post

That’s only because I’ve been trapped neck deep in 12th grader hell.

Time to vent about my life this past to weeks.

First if all, the TOEFL test. I seriously just need to get this off my chest. So besides the fact that a humans attention span at its best is 20 minutes and the test is 5 hours long, I ALMOST WENT BLIND!!! 5 HOURS IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER SCREEN!!

(My crumbling test center, literary just a small room stacked with computers)

The thing is the test is just checking u can survive taking notes in university, so all the questions were just like “summarize this, summarize that” which SUCKED cause the questions had soooo much potential for personal opinion.

And the speaking section was chaotic. Just imagine trying to talk into a microphone with 20 other human sounds in the background… Tough.

So I’m sill waiting for my grades (probably failed)

Now as for school, besides doing absolutely nothing, I joined the athletic team. That basically means I’m part of the basketball team, the volleyball team, the football team (soccer?) and track and field. It sucks cause I’m only in it for basketball… So I’ll probably be dead by the end of the year. Now here’s the really bad part (in my eyes)

I got a new basketball… (big deal cause I get paid like a penny a year by western equivelants)

I take my sweet puppies outside so we can have a good time and shoot some hoops (which I don’t have). Pongo goes off chasing a ferret or something and I’m left with Bagheera.

It’s cool and everything and we’re playing

Still cool.

And then this starts to happen…

And of course it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that eventually that ^ would lead to this:

And she walks away like its none of her business

So yeah that’s my life so far.

On aside note any ideas for Halloween? Il probably just wear a super man shirt like the boring 12th grader I am.

Because of her.

Do you guys remember the “twilight bark” scene from 101 Dalmatians (if you haven’t watched that cartoon you have not lived). Well Bagheera has turned that piece of fiction into my REALITY.

Every night she takes it upon herself, for some reason unknown to man, to communicate with ALL the dogs in the neighborhood. ALL OF THEM. And before you know it you have an army of howling wolves. And this doesn’t got on for a few minutes then it’s over. It goes on for hours and hours, non stop. Then when things start to settle down (6:00 am) it’s time for me to get up for school.

And so everyday I go to school looking like something chewed me up then spit me out, and I get a dozen lectures from my teachers regarding “unacceptable late night partying”. If I were a light sleeper I’d probably fall asleep in class (teacher’s voice keeps me awake despite the boring lecture)

So yea. This has been going on for about a week and I am a few sleepless nights away from taping Bagheera’s mouth shut. I’ve tried everything else. I brought her inside, I fed her and gave her water, I even took her on a VERY late night walk. Nothing. She still barks and barks and barks.

So hopefully this will end soon because it’ll probably be an angry neighbor who spills hot boiling water on her first.

Still a 12th grader…

So sorry it has been quiet around here for like three weeks, but thats what a 12th grader’s blog looks like (or one that’t trying to get into university anyway). I have been busy with my studies, and I’m doing well. The only agony comes from the stress of applying and hopefully getting accepted into any college. I hate this application business. I’d rather get married, have 9 kids, and stay at home (not really).

I hardly have enough time to feed these two 😦

Hopefully I’ll have more time to post but now I have to go (to study of course cause that’s how lifeless I am right now)

First day of school

So it’s 4 in the morning (of course this is usually the time insomnia comes for a visit) and in a few hours I will be on my way to school… My last first day of school ever.

Kind of nervous cause I know that university is seriously just around the corner. I hope I’m able to enjoy this year regardless of the university horror stories I hear all the time.

So yeah, just a quick update on my life.

I was sitting with my family, watching the congress discuss the ruling on Syria and of course listening to various conspiracy theories, most of which are probably exaggerated, but who knows… Now I’m not here to talk about WWIII or anything like that. I just wanted to state the obvious: the universal truth is that what is happening in Syria is a tragedy, and this tragedy could be augmented if (when) retaliation occurs.

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this on this blog: I’m from Egypt, and I am currently in Egypt, so I am no stranger to conflict. It’s a DISGUSTING SICKENING feeling to know that people are killing each other. People may think that I’m just typing away behind the screen oblivious of the pain, but I have lived the pain (as corny as that sounds). And the situation in Syria is directly affecting ME! My country is right in the middle of everything, and I’m not just talking geographically. Let me just explain the horror stories I’m hearing here in Egypt: “they’re trying to destroy the arab nations and we’re the only one left”, “Our military is the only one left standing”, “they want to create a civil war.”… I just don’t know, and I am not being very optimistic.

But all this doesn’t matter because compared to Syria, what’s happening in Egypt is child’s play.

People ask who’s right? Which side should they join? the truth is that everyone is wrong and that people are dying! Syrians are killing Syrians and now the U.S will most probably join in the blood bath… Why?

If only someone could shed some light and explain to me how the bombing of Syria is going to help? The reality is that either way, syria is sort of doomed at the moment. If the U.S does not intervene, Syria is still doomed, and if the U.S does intervene… well, its doomsday, doom overload! It is as if everyone has suddenly forgotten about what happened in Iraq. WHY REPEAT?? Where is Obama coming from?! Is he even in control or is there some sort of puppet master standing behind the curtain?

What the U.S wants to do seems more like an invasion than a rescue. Innocent people are going to die, and that includes membered of the U.S army! Why should American soldiers  do the dirty work and go back to their homes in their coffins?

If there was going to be some sort of aid from the U.S to change the oppressing regime the intervention should have happened a long time ago, but now Syria knows about the plans and they have taken precautions. I mean it’s not like the Syrian army is just waiting for a bomb to fall out of the sky. They have lost the element of surprise, as some people put it… so basically their plan sucks (for lack of a better word).

A lot of people have been going anti-American, refusing any source of relations with the U.S (or any of the allies), but I’m against that. I’m all for America helping, but the aid does not have to come in the form of a bomb.

People are dying, and more are going to die, and all for what? writing this post will not do anything to help and the issue will probably go on for years, but that was just my random rant (cause anyone who reads this blog is used to posts about my dogs)

Love overdose

I didn’t think I could love this girl anymore than I already did… I was wrong.

Because I was so preoccupied with Pongo while he was ill, I sort if neglected this girl in terms of love and play. But that’s one of the great things about her… No matter what happens she’a always her cheery enthusiastic self. If she were a human, she’d be the kind that always points out the good side of things.

Anyway, we’ve been spending quality time together (because Pongo is back to being his disloyal jerky self).

We had a water fight and she ate my water gun, but that’s okay cause I LOVE HER.

We had a Disney marathon… I think she found her favourite movie (101 Dalmatians)

And I have absolutely no reason to use a leash on her, which is AWESOME!!!!

And she has unending love. I mean its not just the outstanding obedience, it’s her loyalty.

And might I add that she’s turning out to be a fine guard dog. It’s like she was born to do it.

Although sometimes she sleeps on the job…

This discretion doesn't give her full credit, because in truth she's just a super duper awesome smart fun playful loving angel sent from heaven (even those words don't portray the entire picture).

Rough week

20130828-124924 PM.jpg

Sorry I’ve been quiet for a while, but Pongo had a very rough time lately. He wasn’t himself about a week ago. He just slept 24/7. He also would whine randomly, like the “I’m in pain” kind of whine. The initially thought that he must have twisted something but I couldn’t figure which part of his anatomy exactly cause once he’d whine when I tougher his leg and the next time he’d whine when I touched his neck. The first couple of vets (terrible) only said that I was overreacting and that he was fine. I should just give him some pills to improve his appetite.

Well, I finally took him to a real vet…
It wasn’t good.

Apparently Pongo had seriously bad constipation, as in he had rocks in his stomach. This caused he’s temperature to rise 4 DEGREES!!!! And the vet said if we had waited any longer he would have gotten poising.

That night he took a total of six shots, two in his thigh (which hurt) and the other three… Where the sun don’t shine (which hurt even more). “Hurt” is an understatement… He was in excruciating pain. So much that he couldn’t even bite the vet (and he bites everyone). All he could do was sick his claws deeper into the straight jacket aka MY ARMS. And the screeching… I think I’m going to have nightmares about his screams for the next few years.

Anyway, after much mor struggle, screaming and sharp needles, he immediately got pooped liquid ( well to be honest it sort of exploded out of him when we were done). And instantly he got much much much better!!!

He’s already himself… Cheerful, running all over the place, and bullying Bagheera. The only thing left of his medication is antibiotic, just incase the rock stools he had in his stomach cut him up or something. And It’ll be a cold day in Hell the day Pongo takes his medicine willingly. I have to sit on him, and even then I can only force mini licks into him before he squirms away.

Thank God he’s better though.

17 days left till school..

In 17 days I’ll start 12th grade. 12TH GRADE!! That’t like the border line between school and university. I’m not excited, I’m terrified! I’m not ready for my final year of high school, let alone university!

Imagethis is what it’s like getting up for school…

Not looking forward to 12th grade at all…

Howler’s gone

I can’t find her anywhere. The puppies are in that disgusting age where they actually move… Sometimes I find them a couple of blocks down my street.

The good news is (well there can’t be good news after this) is that my mothers aunt is staying over for a while and she loves dogs more than her own children, so she ordered everyone in the house to let the puppies in.

So yeah, now I have Pongo, Bagheera, and four puppies in my back sandpit (it used to be a garden but thanks to the dogs it was reduced to sand).

Bagheera is amazing. She is officially the universal doggie mother. Pongo is just weird. I feel like I’m part of a dog pack now, with Pongo as the alpha male (I failed miserably trying to take the alpha position away from him).

I’ll keep looking for Howler. I blame Luna for losing her. As usual I’ll update if anything happens.

Names to Faces

I know everyone says that names lead to attachment. Why don’t I want to get attached? Well, because sooner or later my smuggling of these little guys ( and their mothers) will be discovered and then the dogs will get kicked out THERE and then who knows what will happen.

Still, I couldn’t resist naming them

Monroe: price’s only puppy and the oldest if the entire litter. Considering changing her name into rip jaw because her teeth are weapons of torture.

Dipstick: the runt of Luna’s litter. He’s just one of those dogs whose spirit is bigger than their body.

Ponyo: she likes to eat sand… A trend I’m starting to notice in dogs

Fidget: he’s the aloof one. Always sitting by himself and abandoning others to do his own thing (or maybe the other are the ones doing the abandoning)

Howler: honestly, and I hate do discriminate, she’s my favorite! Just look at that face! If only she would make so much noise…

So yeah. These little guys are doing great (for now). I took Pongo and Bagheera out to meet them today. Well of course Bagheera was the sweet cheerful girl that her character dictates she must be. It was like they were her own puppies.

Pongo… Well, he was just like “what are these? Gremlins?”

80 percent of my life at the moment is officially dog.
